About

Chessy is built by one person. Me.

Hi, I'm Stef. I built Chessy because I was stuck at 1400 rapid and nothing on the market was helping me improve. This is the story of the app and where it's going.

Why Chessy exists.

Chess improvement apps mostly follow the same playbook. Generic puzzles from a shared pool. Generic tips that apply to everyone. Generic opening courses. The result is that everyone gets the same training, whether they're a beginner hanging pieces or an intermediate misplaying endgames.

Chessy is built on a different premise: the only training that matters is training on YOUR actual weaknesses. Your puzzles come from your real games. Your coach report is based on your actual week. Your opening recommendations are tuned to what you already play and how you play it. Not someone else's curriculum.

What's next.

Chessy is iOS-first, but Android is on the roadmap. Future versions will expand the opening library, improve the coach reports with more personalization, and add training modules for specific rating plateaus. This is a product I'm building for the long term, not a weekend project. If you have feedback, I actually read every email: chessyappsupport@gmail.com.

Who built this.

Hi, I'm Stef. Based in Israel. I built Chessy solo — from the iOS app to the Supabase backend to this website. I'm a chess improver first and a developer second. My rapid rating is 1700, which is mid-tier and I'm fine with that. Chessy helps me climb and it's designed to help you do the same.
