Common questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

All subscriptions are managed by Apple through the App Store. Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your iPhone, find Chessy, and tap Cancel Subscription. If you cancel during your 3-day free trial, you won't be charged.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store subscriptions are handled by Apple, not Chessy directly. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't process refunds ourselves, but we're happy to help if you run into issues.

My Chess.com / Lichess account won't connect. What do I do?

First, make sure you're using the exact username from your account (case-sensitive). If it still fails, check that your Chess.com or Lichess profile is public (not set to private). If you're still stuck, email us at chessyappsupport@gmail.com with your username and we'll investigate.

The app is crashing or freezing. Help?

First try closing and reopening the app. If that doesn't work, delete and reinstall from the App Store (you won't lose your progress — it's stored on the server). Still broken? Email us with your iPhone model and iOS version.

Will there be an Android version?

Yes, Android is on the roadmap. No firm date yet, but we're working toward it.

Is my data private?

Your Chess.com / Lichess username and game history are the only personal data Chessy uses, and they're used only to generate your personalized insights and puzzles. We don't sell or share your data. Full privacy policy at /privacy.

I found a bug. What should I do?

Email chessyappsupport@gmail.com with: (1) what you were trying to do, (2) what happened instead, (3) your iPhone model and iOS version. Screenshots help. Every bug report gets a reply.
